1. What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your role (e.g. freelancer, consultant). We use this to notify you when ContextShelf becomes available and to understand who we are building for.

We do not collect payment information at this stage.

2. How the app works with your files

ContextShelf is a macOS app that runs entirely on your device. It reads file metadata — names, paths, and modification timestamps — from the project folders you explicitly add. It does not read file contents, upload your files to any server, or access folders you have not selected.

When you request an AI briefing, a small amount of metadata (file names and timestamps, project name, days dormant) is sent to our backend to generate the briefing. This data is not stored after the response is returned. No raw file contents are ever transmitted.

3. Third-party services

We use third-party AI providers (such as Google Gemini, Anthropic, or xAI) to generate briefings. The metadata payload described above is sent to whichever provider is active. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for how they handle API inputs.

We may use Resend or a webhook service to process waitlist signups. Your email is handled according to those services' terms.

4. Data retention

Waitlist emails are retained until you ask us to remove them, or until the product launches and the waitlist is no longer needed. Briefing metadata is not retained after a response is delivered.

5. Your rights

You can ask us to delete your email from the waitlist at any time by contacting us. We will action removal requests within a reasonable timeframe.
